Captain Archibald Haddock (Capitaine Archibald Haddock) is one of the main characters of the Adventures of Tintin comics. Captain Haddok goes on many adventures with Tintin.
Appearance[]
Captain Haddock has a black beard and black hair. He is almost always seen wearing his blue and black clothes he is maybe in his late 30's early 40's
Personality[]
Archibald's personality is described as not too bright; His alcoholism and temperamental nature, characterize him as weak and unstable, at times posing as great a hazard to Tintin as the villains of the piece. He is also short-tempered, given to emotional and expletive-ridden outbursts, and capable of infuriating behavior; at one point in the album he even attacks Tintin when, traversing the Moroccan desert, Haddock has the sun-induced delusion that Tintin is a bottle of champagne and tries desperately to pull his head off.
Despite his unlawful nature, he is best friends with Tintin as the story progresses and tries to avoid his violent nature. Haddock is also shown care of affection, where Haddock promises to the portrait of Calculus that he will save him in Prisoners of the Sun in the cartoon. Also when Abdullah gives Haddock a coo-coo clock that warmed Haddock's heart in The Red Sea Sharks.
Occupation[]
Captain Haddock is a retired sea captain (although he is a merchant marine reservist, subject to call-up in Land of Black Gold). He has also had many other jobs like a spaceman and a mountaineer.
